Cycling for Those Who Want to Enjoy Nature

Currently, bicycles are no longer just used as a means for transportation and sports, but have become part of today’s lifestyle trends. Cycling is fun. Because we can exercise as well as recreation. By cycling we can visit new places that we have never known before.

Compared to other vehicles or means of transportation, bicycles have not been lost to the times. Bicycles are indeed more flexible, because they can be relied on to be carried to various road fields.

Bicycles are a means of transportation that are friendly to the environment because they do not require fuel or produce exhaust gases that can pollute air pollution. One of the most widely used types of bicycles by society today is mountain bikes.

The Reason Why Mountain Bikes Are Favorite Adventure Friends

Mountain bikes are a favorite of many people because they can be carried on a variety of diverse road terrain. Mountain bikes are indeed very suitable for those of you who are adventurous.

Passionate cyclists need benchmark products that are design driven, high-quality and innovate. All Mountain Style thrives on designing, manufacturing and selling them worldwide.

That way, you can reach places that are more remote and hidden. Most of them are green open nature. Such as rice fields, forests, hills, valleys, rivers, or mountainous areas that have not been touched by many people.

Types of Mountain Bikes Based on Suspension

Mountain bikes themselves have several types and sub categories. Are as follows:

  1. Hardtail

Hardtail means the mountain bike has no rear suspension. Usually, the suspension is only at the front which is referred to as a suspension fork.

  • Fullsus

While Fullsus (Full Suspension) is a type of mountain bike that has a double suspension. Namely the front suspension and rear suspension (rear shock).

Kinds of Mountain Bikes and Examples and Their Functions

Each type of bicycle has a different size or length of travel suspension. For example, the type of bicycle to play in steep mountainous areas is certainly different from the type of bicycle that is usually used to get around casually or in ordinary areas. The classification of bicycles is distinguished according to the terrain on the road it passes.

  • Cross Country (XC)

The Cross Country (XC) mountain bike is probably the most common type of mountain bike we encounter on the road. Designed to be able to pass through off-road tracks that are not too extreme. For example, on a slightly rocky dirt road. The road is uphill, or to pass through a hilly area that is not too steep.

The hallmark of this type of bicycle is that it has a travel fork size (front shock length) which ranges from 100 mm to 120 mm. There are cross-country bicycles of the hard tail type and there are also those of the fullsus type.

  • All Mountain

Designed to be able to bulldoze the off-road track that is more extreme. For example, in wild conditions with diverse land contours, such as in mountainous areas. All Mountain bikes are generally quite able to be invited to jump (drop), but for a drop that is not too high.

This bike has a longer travel than Cross Country bikes, which ranges from 140 mm to 160 mm. All Mountain Bikes are also known as Enduro Bikes and Trail Bikes.

  • Freeride

It can be said that this is the most combat-ready type of bike. The riding style and use can lead to downhill flow, enduro or dirt jump.

Freeride mountain bikes can be brought down hills quickly and agilely. Or to be invited to jump at high speed. Travel size ranges from 180 mm to 200 mm.

The driving style will depend on the creativity and riding style of the rider. Some professional Freeriders often use All Mountain and Downhill bicycles to perform various tricks because there are no standard provisions regarding this freeride.

  • Dirt Jump

Dirt Jumper bikes are fairly durable. This bike has a sturdy and strong frame design. Used to perform various freestyle tricks while jumping in the air.

The hallmark of this bike is the position of its short saddle holder, to make it easier for the rider to perform various freestyle tricks. In addition, the handlebar or handle bar can also rotate 360°.

The travel fork size of the Dirt Jumper bicycle front suspension is probably the shortest among other types of mountain bikes. That is, ranging from 80 mm to 100 mm.

This Dirt Jump bike is similar to BMX, widely used on special tracks such as pump track areas or to perform certain tricks in urban urban areas. The hard tail type, but now there are also many full suspension types.

  • Downhill

Downhill bikes are designed to be able to go down hills or steep mountain trails at high speed. For this reason, this type of bicycle has a travel fork with the longest suspension of other types of bicycles. Generally, around 200 mm.

Because it is designed only for downhill, this bike usually doesn’t have many acceleration options, usually only up to 6th gear.

Some professional riders even don’t use a bicycle chain at all (removed without a chain). They rely more on brakes and balance because the terrain is downhill without any incline.

Of course, this bike is not suitable for daily use, let alone to go through the incline.

  • Fat Bike

The most striking thing on a Fat Bike bike is the size of the tires which are quite large. The width diameter is indeed much larger than other types of bicycles, in fact it is equivalent to motorcycle tires. In fact, the width of the tires can be almost equivalent to a 150-250 cc sport bike.

Initially, Fat Bike bikes were designed to be used on snowy terrain. But it turns out that it can also be used on off-road terrain such as mountain bikes.

Due to the large size of the tires, of course the weight becomes a little heavier and slower. So that fat bikes are more suitable for casual riding or adventures by bringing more bikepack equipment.
